20 Mar

UNV S2 Series NVR is the latest in Uniview’s Easy Series featuring extremely cost-effective performance and user-friendly experience. The UNV S2 series NVR is ideal for the retail and SMB markets with the ability to support up to 6MP camera resolution access with all channels. The UNV S2 series NVR additionally supports 4 channel 1080P decoding ability. The S2 Series is also embedded with UNV’s latest OS – Uni OS, aiming at optimizing the user experience. The user operation process has been analyzed and enhanced using a Human Machine Interaction study. During product development, Uniview considered every aspect of functionality, including entry level ones, and made countless enhancements in Uniview’s spirit of “more efficient, more reliable” to deliver even more value to the user.

Highlights:

Accessibility:

The devices can support up to 6MP camera access and 4 channels 1080p decoding, which is more than enough for the cameras in retail and SMB market. This optimizes the cost-effectiveness by providing suitable accessibility without extra waste.

New OS:

The NVR is powered by UNV’s latest OS – Uni OS. After more than 6 months of dedicated analysis, development, and tests, the Uni OS provides a simple and intuitive user operation experience. For example, the startup wizard is simplified and lets the software do most of the configuration for swift setup. And the function menu is reorganized according to the frequency of each function.

Hardware Design:

The NVR hardware anticipates all possible problems that users might experience and prevent them from the very beginning. For example, the HDD installation port is designed for easy installation. All of the screws can be installed at the HDD first then fit in the NVR and fasten. The NVR does not have a fan to produce noise and is replaced with a large cooling fin. Even the edge of the chassis is curved to prevent hand cuts during the installation.

Basic Information About CCTV
Basic Information About CCTV

CCTV, which stands for Closed-Circuit Television, is a video surveillance system that transmits signals over a private network rather than a public broadcast. This means that the footage captured by CCTV cameras is only accessible to authorized viewers, unlike broadcast television that anyone with a TV can tune into.

IP CCTV Camera
IP CCTV Camera

IP CCTV, or Internet Protocol Closed-Circuit Television, represents a modern approach to video surveillance utilizing digital technology and network connectivity. Unlike traditional analog CCTV systems, IP cameras capture and transmit video data as digital packets using the internet protocol (IP). This enables several advantages and advancements over its analog counterpart.

Analog CCTV Camera
Analog CCTV Camera

Analog CCTV, the original video surveillance technology has been around for decades and paved the way for modern security systems. While surpassed by newer IP technology in some aspects, it still holds its own in specific applications due to its simplicity and affordability.

we must check the camera's cable connection and power source. Normally, a problem comes from the wire trying to break toward the middle but not completely broken. The RJ45 jack is rusted(due to dew and water).  The PoE and the power supply may not work properly. For this, we have to change the cable or we can check by removing the camera and connecting it to a shorter wire. We can also test it by changing the switch's port and the power adapter.
